Sin and death have been defeated. Jesus’ death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins, and His resurrection gives us victory over death. We no longer have to fear death because we know that we will have eternal life with Christ.

We are no longer slaves to sin, we are children of God. We have been redeemed and forgiven, and we have the power of the Holy Spirit living in us.

As we celebrate that “He has Risen”, let us remember the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ and live our lives in light of His victory over sin and death.

Biblical Accounts That He Has Risen

The four Gospels in the New Testament of the Bible – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John – share accounts that He Has Risen.

• Matthew describes an angel appearing at the tomb who tells the women that Jesus has risen and instructs them to tell the disciples. (Matthew 28:1-10)

• Mark’s Gospel tells of three women who go to the tomb and find it empty, with an angel in white telling them that Jesus has risen. (Mark 16:1)

• Luke’s Gospel tells of two angels appearing to the women at the tomb, telling them that Jesus has risen. (Luke 24:4) In addition two of the disciples encounter Jesus on the road to Emmaus but do not recognize him until he breaks bread with them. (Luke 24:13-35)

• John’s Gospel describes Mary Magdalene finding the tomb empty (John 20:1-2). She also witnesses the risen Christ, mistaking him for the gardener until he calls her by name (John 20:11-18).

How to Celebrate that He is Risen

As a Christian, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Easter, is a joyful and meaningful occasion. Take a moment to pray and reflect, even if it’s just for a few minutes. There is no set amount of time for prayer; it can be as long or as short as you like. Remember, the Lord is always listening and loves to hear from us.

2. Reflect on His Sacrifice

Jesus Christ gave up His life so that we could live – the greatest sacrifice of all time. He sacrificed Himself on the cross to save us from our sins. Let that sink in…He gave His life for you!

Celebrate this act of love by setting aside time to study the Bible and read about our Savior’s sacrifice. The Gospels provide a detailed account of His sacrifice.

3. Worship and Praise Him

Worshipping and praising Jesus can be done in many ways, but the most important part is to be intentional and focused on expressing gratitude for His love.

Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in your time with the Lord. There’s no specific method of worship; The Lord loves to hear us and knows the true motive of our hearts. What matters most is that we are sincere in our expressions of love and gratitude.

Human beings love sharing good news, but nothing compares to the significance of sharing the message that “He is Risen.” This is the best news that anyone can receive, it has the power to change lives.

There are many ways to do this. You can be a positive example of what it means to follow Christ, share relevant Bible verses, or share your personal testimony. Step out in faith and share the story of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross.

5. Attend Church Service

Gathering with other believers in a church service or even a small group setting is a great way to celebrate this joyous time.

The resurrection is not just a one-time event, but a daily commitment to living a life of faith and love. It is a reminder of the power of God and His plan for us. May we all remember the significance of the resurrection and allow it to transform our lives.
